The ₹815 crore project spans 3.8 km with five modern stations and 148 gondolas, designed to carry nearly one lakh passengers daily.
Developed by National Highway Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the ropeway promises to cut traffic and pollution while offering a faster, cleaner commute across the holy city.
Varanasi Development Authority Vice President Pulkit Garg called it a “visionary project” and urged citizens to use the service responsibly once operational.
