We took a flight from Jakarta to the city of Medan in Northern Sumatra, Indonesia, where we stayed for a couple of days before boarding a bus for Bukit Lawang. We then spent 4 days trekking around Gunung Leuser National Park where we saw a variety of animals including Sumatran orangutans, Thomas's leaf monkeys, Northern white-cheeked gibbons and Southern pig-tailed macaques.
