The Sabrina Basin in California’s Eastern Sierra is one of the most breathtaking hiking destinations I’ve ever explored. This trip absolutely delivered.

Starting at Sabrina Lake, I hike deep into the high Sierra, climbing toward Blue Lake before continuing past Dingleberry Lake and up to the stunning alpine basin surrounding Moonlight Lake. From there, the route traverses past Sailor Lake, eventually leading to a remote and peaceful campsite at Hungry Packer Lake, where the scenery feels almost unreal. I pitched my tent and spent the night in total peace and quiet under the stars.

This hike is a showcase of everything that makes the Eastern Sierra special: crystal-clear alpine lakes, granite peaks, open basins, and long stretches of quiet trail far from the crowds. Every mile reveals something new, and by the time camp is set at Hungry Packer Lake, it’s impossible not to feel like you’ve stepped into one of the most beautiful places in the Sierra Nevada.
