Late in October, I embarked on a thrilling solo overnight backpacking adventure along Yosemite’s iconic Pohono Trail, starting at Tunnel View. This video chronicles my journey ascending through breathtaking scenery, where towering granite cliffs and cascading waterfalls create an unforgettable backdrop. With the trail challenging me both physically and mentally, I pushed on to the serene Crocker Point, a lesser-known gem offering stunning views of Yosemite Valley and the distant peaks.

As night fell, I set up camp alone in the wilderness, my tent perched beneath the star-studded sky at Crocker Point. Hear the rustle of the wind, the crackle of a small campfire, and the peaceful solitude that comes with spending a night completely immersed in nature. From sunrise at Crocker Point to the challenges of solo backpacking, this adventure captures the raw beauty and spirit of Yosemite.

The next morning I packed up camp and enjoyed a delicious coffee from the top of the Yosemite Valley rim, overlooking much of the valley below and the Yosemite high country. It was truly a special overnight into the backcountry, as I was also rewarded with tons of late season fall color along the trail. Beautoful aspens ans maple leaves lined areas of the trail, in full display of fall colors.
