Ingredients:
Boiled chickpeas (chana) – 1 ½ cups
Carrot (Julien) – 1 cup
Boiled potato (optional) – 1 small
Boiled spaghetti – 1 cup
Boiled macaroni – 1 cup
Green chilies (chopped) – 1 tsp
Fresh coriander – 2 tablespoons
Cucumber (Julien) – 1 cup
Red Radish– ½ cup
Onion (finely chopped) – 1 small
Black pepper – ½ tsp
Salt – ½ tsp
Chaat masala – 1 tsp
Ketchup– 3 tbsp
Apricot chutney – 4 tbsp
Tamarind chutney – 3 tbsp
Mix herbs – ¼ tsp
Sev as required
Tamarind chutney:
Tamarind 250 g
Suger ½ cup
Ginger powder ½ tsp
Salt ¼ tsp
Chilli flakes ½ tsp
Roasted coriander ½ tsp
Roasted cumin powder – ½ tsp
Apricot chutney:
Dry apricot 1 cup
Chilli flakes – ½ tsp
Sugar 2 tbsp
Salt – to taste / ¼ tsp
Chat masala 1 tsp
Ginger powder ½ tsp
Method:
Add the boiled chickpeas to a large mixing bowl
Add onion, carrot, cucumber , macaroni, spaghetti,and boiled potato
Now add green chillies, and coriander.
Sprinkle salt, red chili flakes,black pepper and chaat masala.
Add ketchup, apricot and tamarind chutney.
Mix everything well until fully combined
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed
Garnish with sev, sprinkle mix herbs and serve.
Serve this chilled Chana Chaat at iftar. It’s light on the stomach, full of protein, and perfect after a long fast.
