Your serratus anterior’s action is to protract and drop the shoulder blade to prevent shoulder impingement.💥
A weak serratus anterior can lead to issues like scapular winging (shoulder blade sticking out) and overuse of the antagonistic muscles, being your retractors & downward rotators - your rhomboids, middle traps and Levator scapulae.
These are my favorite serratus exercises to implement with my patients, along with myself. Throw them into your warm-ups, add a push away protraction after the pushups you’re already doing. 🙌
