What you will need :
Ingredients:
1) 1/2 cup Split Green Lentils / Chilka Moong Dal (thoroughly washesd, soaked for atleast 45mins to 1 hour, if possible soak it for 2-3 hours. Soaking helps improve digestion, softens the lentils, making them cook more evenly and enhance nutrient absorption)
2) 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves / cilantro
3) 1/2 tsp cumin seeds / jeera
4) 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
5) 1/4 tsp asafoetida aka hing (helps to reduce bloating and gas, and relieve indigestion)
6) 1/2 tsp salt or adjust as per your taste
7) Water as needed to grind the batter.
Method:
1) In a mixer grinder add all the ingredients & grind into course batter. Add 2-3 Tbsp water at a time only. If the lentil is soaked well, it will need very little water.
Batter should be not too thick or too thin but should be pouring consistency.
2) Pour about 1/4 cup batter into greasted pan.
3) Let the top get matte & then flip to cook on the other side until crispy edges & golden brown.
Serve with your choice of chutney / ketchup or Just have it as is.
