IMPORTANT CONTEXT

During this training evolution, two SEEK AttackPRO VRS cameras were operated simultaneously during a single exterior walk-around:

One set to Thermal Imaging Basic Mode (300°)

One set to Survey Mode (150°)

Both cameras were carried at the same time and walked around the structure together. The video is edited into sections only to clearly show each mode. The conditions, movement, and environment are the same, and the cameras are capturing the same moment in time.

HOW THIS VIDEO IS STRUCTURED

The video is presented in three parts to demonstrate how the SEEK AttackPRO VRS displays heat differently depending on the selected mode and how that affects firefighter interpretation during size-up.

WHY MIXED GAIN MODE MATTERS

Many thermal imaging cameras switch between high and low sensitivity, which can cause firefighters to lose detail as the image changes.

Seek Mixed Gain Mode does not switch sensitivity.
The image remains constant, providing better continuity, improved detail retention, and more consistent interpretation.

TRAINING MATTERS AS MUCH AS THE CAMERA

When fire departments purchase Seek thermal imaging cameras through Max Fire Training and add Max Fire Box Phase I and Phase II in-service training, firefighters are able to put meaningful reps on the camera in an interactive learning environment.
