The “Global Infrastructure Partnerships: Collaborative Opportunities” panel, moderated by Gaurav Sharma, brought together leading voices in urban development and infrastructure to explore how Abu Dhabi is shaping the future through international collaboration. The conversation focused on sustainable growth, resilient infrastructure, and the importance of long-term partnerships between governments and private developers.
Mounir Haidar (LEAD) reflected on two decades of transformation in Abu Dhabi, crediting the government’s vision and support for enabling developers to deliver not just real estate but integrated, livable infrastructure. He emphasized that infrastructure development is a creative and strategic endeavor, not just technical execution.
Carlos Wakim (Bloom) advocated for a human-centric approach, explaining how Bloom Living was designed to foster well-being, walkability, and community cohesion across generations and nationalities, shifting the focus from investor demands to quality of life.
Fuat Kasimcan (Turkish Contractors Association) highlighted Turkey’s contribution to global infrastructure, with $540 billion in projects across 278 countries. He emphasized the importance of extending partnerships beyond finance, into innovation, technology, and knowledge-sharing, especially as the region pivots toward green and digital transformation.
Abdulaziz Alobaidli (Masdar) discussed how Masdar has scaled renewable energy projects across the globe by working closely with local governments to co-create policies and ecosystems. He stressed the importance of ESG (environmental, social, governance) practices, community inclusion, and the long-term nature of infrastructure investment.
All panelists agreed that Abu Dhabi’s model of visionary planning, openness to innovation, and regulatory clarity makes it a global example of how infrastructure can be a platform for economic and social resilience.
