Welcome to the 9th class of Beginners Yoga Module B! This is a pivotal practice in our sequence because for the first time since the beginning of this course (Module A) we move straight from Standing Poses into Dandasana - leaving out our Vajrasana and Urdhva Prasarita Padasana Cycle. This isn't because they are no longer important, but simply because we need to make space to integrate new poses into this sequence without practicing for 3 hours at a time! Both Vajrasana and UPP will be re-integrated into the next Module which will be composed of different practices for different days of the week. Progression! The new poses in this practice are full Virahadrasana III, Stage 1 & 2 of Parivritta Pravskaonasana and Eka Pada Sarvangasana. We explore Virabhadrasana III in 'space' (full balancing) and also with the back foot against the wall because the back leg of Virabhadrasana III is a crucial foundation for many future poses so we want the understanding and integration of its very specific action to be clear. Parivrtta Parsvakonasana is an absolutely beautiful and strengthening twisting pose and Stage 1 & Stage 2 obviously lead the way into the fuller expression of this pose in future sessions. Eka Pada Sarvangasana is a crucial deepening of the absolutely essential Sarvangasana cycle enriching our experience of this cycle and aiding us to spend more time upside down for enhanced health benefits. Just keep practicing with the same intensity and trust that so many amazing experiences are coming your way!

NOTE - During menstruation please avoid all Core Work, Strong Twistings (Parivrtta Parsvakonasana) as well as all Inversions. One could insert Supta Padangusthasana Cycle in place of Core, Supta Baddka Konasana in place of Sarvangasana and classical Savasana instead of Viparita Karani.
