Horia Mosadiq
is an Afghan human rights defender and journalist with around 26 years of work experience in Afghanistan and South Asia region, in the fields of human rights, peace, justice and reconciliation, transitional justice, gender, security and violent extremism. She is a well-known and well-respected Women Human Rights Defender in Afghanistan and the region. In 2007 Mosadiq won the Afghan human rights award and in 2011 she was named one of the 50 most courageous women in the world by Britain’s Glamour Magazine. Amnesty International gave her the Women Rights Defender Award in 2012 and 2015, and the Open Asia/Armanshahr Foundation recognized her for her outstanding commitment to human rights in 2015.
The interview was made in the context of the VIDC panel discussion " Afghanistan: Six months after the disaster. Women's Oppression and Humanitarian Tragedy.” which took place on March 3rd 2022.
