Can you spot the wooden huts?
These huts, or shelters, are made of birch wood and was created by Danish architect Karin Hvid Rydell in 2018. They are well hidden amongst the trees and that was the mission of it all.
Two of the huts are named after the tree birch with inspiration from the Scandinavian languages, namely "Birk" and "Birka". The third one is called Ronja and got named by a class of middle schoolers who thought that the other two sounded like charachters from Astrid Lindgren stories and therefore wanted to complete the site with another charachter.
You can book the huts 90 days in advance and they are a few of the bookable huts of Sweden.
As a neighbour you now have the fun dining experience of Treehouse Hovdala.
This all takes place in the area of Hovdala Nature Reserve and Hiking Area where the 17th century castle Hovdala Slott is imbedded in nature. You can hike the hilly landscape via different looping trails from more than 146 km of trails. You will pass by historical sights, architectural buildings in nature, grassing cattle, stoneage settlement and much more.
