I made a last-minute decision to head up to Beadnell to try for one last big Cod before the season winds down.
On my very first cast, the rod bent over properly. Because of the weight, I honestly thought I was into a double-figure fish. It turns out, I'd managed to foul hook a 5lb Cod right through the tail!
Because it was swimming backwards against the tide, it felt absolutely massive.
