In Tornio, Northern Finland, Wärtsilä is constructing the largest LNG receiving terminal in the Nordic region. When in commercial operation in mid-2018, the terminal will supply gas to a local stainless steel mill, and LNG to other users in the Nordic region.
One challenge we overcame in this project was to transport the tank top module from the prefabrication facility to the site. It involved moving the module to the port for loading onto a barge, and unloading and hauling it to the site. Take a look at the journey!
