In the 100% renewables world scenario, the majority of the energy produced will be from solar and wind power. But solar and wind is intermittent and requires other forms of generation as a backup. LNG fueled engine power plants will ensure flexibility and reliability. They balance the variability of wind and solar energy and lower greenhouse gas emissions and fuel costs compared to the use of fuel oil. LNG to power solutions are feasible and can be developed already today.
