Welcome to my channel The Taste Mystery! Today I’m showing you how to make Egg Rolls from scratch—including the sheets! By using a simple liquid batter, you get a much better texture than store-bought wraps. These are stuffed with a spicy chicken and veggie mix and coated in breadcrumbs for that extra crunch.
📝 For the Stuffing:
• Oil: 3 tbsp
• Chicken: (Shredded)
• Ginger Garlic Paste: 1 tsp
• Sauces: 1 tbsp Soya Sauce, 1 tbsp Ketchup, 1/2 tsp Vinegar, 1 tbsp Chilli Sauce
• Spices: 1 tsp Salt, 1 tbsp Black Pepper
• Veggies: 3 tbsp Carrots, 1/2 cup Cabbage, 1/2 cup Bell Peppers, 1/4 cup Green Onion
For the Roll Sheets (Makes 4-5):
• Flour: 1 cup
• Egg: 1
• Orange Food Colour: 1/4 tsp
• Salt: 1 tsp
• Water: Added slowly for a thin, whisked consistency
Quick Steps:
1. The Filling: Sauté chicken with ginger garlic paste for 4 minutes. Add spices, sauces, and veggies. Cook for 2–3 minutes and let it cool.
2. The Sheets: Whisk flour, egg, salt, and food colour with water into a thin batter. Pour into a lightly oiled pan and swirl to make a thin round sheet.
3. The Roll: Once cool, place the stuffing in the sheets and roll them up.
4. The Coating: Dip the rolls in beaten egg and then coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs.
5. The Fry: Deep fry on a medium flame until they are perfectly golden and crispy.
