Yamamoto Shoten is an antique furniture store (Kaguya) fighting to repair and preserve these irreplaceable time capsules which date as far back as the Meiji era (1868-1912). With Japan’s older generations dying out, such furniture falls under threat of being forgotten and destroyed. The store, which is located in Shimokitazawa, boasts a vast collection of over 2000 pieces, continuing a legacy that has existed through three generations since 1945.
