The Audi RS 6 is one of the world’s most recognisable station wagons, or avant in Audi-speak, and now it has a wild 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that now pumps out 463kW and 850Nm, slashing its 0-100km/h acceleration time from 3.6 to just 3.4 seconds.

But straight-line speed is only part of the story here. There are several other completely crazy things this vehicle can do – and senior editor Feann Torr explored as many of them as possible at the Phillip Island racetrack and skid pan.
