This film traces the layers of the town:
its name born from the “tails” of overlapping mountain ridges,
its history shaped by wind, silk, and prayer.

“Yatsuo” is said to come from the many ridges (tails) that meet here.
Those ridges create paths for the wind—
paths that shaped daily life, the silkworm culture,
and eventually, the dance of Owara.

The slopes of the river terrace,
the clear sound of water channels,
the glow of rice at dusk,
and the dancers’ shadows stretching like long, quiet tails—
everything felt connected to the heart of this festival.
