Objectives of Payment of Wages Act:

Protection from Unjust Deductions: To prevent employers from making unauthorized deductions from wages.
Legal Framework: To establish a clear framework that outlines the rights of employees and the obligations of employers regarding wage payments.

Key Definitions of Payment of Wages Act
Wages: Any remuneration paid to employees for their work, including allowances, bonuses, and other forms of income related to employment.
Employee: Any person employed in any industry to do any skilled, unskilled, manual, supervisory, clerical, or technical work.
Employer: A person responsible for the payment of wages to employees, including legal representatives of a deceased employer.
