Large Batch Potato Galette Recipe (5 Large Potatoes | Serves 6–8)
Ingredients
5 large potatoes (about 900g – 1kg)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 – 1½ tsp salt (to taste)
½ tsp black pepper
2 cloves garlic, finely minced (optional)
½ cup grated cheese (Parmesan, Gruyère, or mozzarella)
Optional:
1 tsp dried herbs (thyme / rosemary / Italian mix)
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions (Pan Version – Extra Crispy)
Prep Potatoes
Peel and thinly slice (1–2mm).
Rinse quickly and pat very dry.
Season
Toss with melted butter, olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, cheese & herbs.
Layer
Heat a large non-stick or cast-iron pan on medium-low.
Arrange potatoes overlapping tightly in a circular shape.
Cook Covered
Cover and cook 18–22 minutes until golden and tender.
Flip Carefully
Slide onto a large plate, flip back into pan.
Cook uncovered 12–15 minutes until deeply crispy.
Serve
Rest 3 minutes, slice & enjoy 😋
🔥 Oven-Baked Option (Easier for Big Batch)
Preheat oven to 200°C.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Layer seasoned potatoes into a round shape.
Bake 35–40 minutes, flip, then bake 15–20 minutes more until crispy.
🧀 Flavor Variations
Extra cheesy: Add +½ cup cheese
Truffle style: Add a few drops of truffle oil
Spicy: Add chili flakes or paprika
