In Lesson one, Mohamed Saloo will take you through What exactly is poetry and explore how poems work and how we can play about with language, rhythm, volume and movement to discover our individual poetic style.
The Young Poet Laureate programme aims to inspire a new generation of young poets, created by National Poetry Centre in partnership with National Literacy Trust, and supported by Poet Laureate Simon Armitage. Young Poets Week is an integral part of Young Poet Laureate programme as it is an exciting launch point that encourages the next generation of poets by inspiring children to see themselves as writers and performers. It is an opportunity to create joyful connections through poetry, not only among young people but also with families, friends and the wider school community.
