Professor Louise Archer, UCL Institute of Education, shares current work from the four year Youth Equity+STEM research project, which explores how informal STEM learning can meaningfully engage with and support young people from under-served communities. Two conceptual tools for supporting ISL policy and practice are introduced and discussed (the Equity Compass and an Equitable Outcomes model), illustrated with examples from informal STEM learning interventions and programmes.
