This project began with a simple idea: use art to spark conversations about civic responsibility.
With support from Yiaga Africa and Open Society Foundation, my team and I implemented Thumbprints of Democracy in the Garki community, Abuja — a creative civic engagement project combining theatre, visual arts, and public participation.
From street conversations to performance and a collective handprint artwork, this experience showed us how deeply communities still care about voice, representation, and participation.
Art made the conversation possible.
The people made the impact real.
