FSP Repayment Rate Reaches 60 Percent

The Ministry of Community Development and Social Services has recorded a significant improvement in the repayment rate for the Food Security Pack –FSP- project, particularly under the Wetland Cropping sub-programme.
Current repayment rate stands at 60 percent among 40,000 Wetland Cropping beneficiaries with repayments still ongoing in most districts.
Community Development Director, CHANGANO NGOI says the FSP has made significant progress, with 152,000 households supported under the Rainfed Cropping component for the 2024/2025 season.
Speaking to ZNBC NEWS in an interview, Mr. NGOI attributed the improved repayment rate to enhanced sensitisation efforts aimed at educating beneficiaries on the importance of repaying the conditional grant.
Mr. NGOI also explained that the repayments are converted to monetary value and invested into community assets such as hammer mills, maize shellers and boreholes, benefiting the community as a whole.
He disclosed that the programme is currently distributing agricultural inputs to 40,000 households under the Wetland Cropping sub-programme for 2025.
