It was downtime for this male Jambu Fruit Dove as the heat of the afternoon proved relentless. In the peace & quiet of the park, what better to do than to settle down for a little snooze? And that was precisely what this little dove did, perching stock-still while its eyelids grew heavier as the minutes went by.
Jambu Fruit Doves are uncommon residents in Singapore. The male has a distinctive deep pink face with an equally charming light pink patch on its chest. Complete with its emerald, green upper-back & a pure white chest, it is certainly one of the most stunningly beautiful birds.
