Описание: Ever since the rise of online journalism, the world has experienced an unprecedented change in the way that news is spread and assimilated. Some even say that online journalists are not real journalists, that all they do is bombard the public with frivolous digital entertainment. Is this true? Is it possible to look at online journalism in a different light? Rachel Macpherson is a third year Journalism and Creative Writing with Social Policy BA Hons student at the University of Strathclyde. She is an online digital reporter and freelance blogger, and has worked with several newspapers and media companies, and has previously written for The Scottish Review and The Homeless World Cup. Rachel has worked with in journalism since 2014, and currently runs workshops for high school students. Rachel has experience in digital writing and social media, as well as a keen interest in podcasting and photography. She hopes to one day be a published author. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
