Cebu to Iceland | 42 hour Travel for Filipinos Long Haul Travel from Cebu to Amsterdam then Iceland

Описание: (Feb.24) More than 40 hours is what it takes for a #filipino to visit the Land of FIRE and ICE. With #reykjavik its capital, #iceland is truly a unique experience for Filipinos during winter season.
I start my Journey from Cebu via #mactancebuinternationalairport to Manila with an 8 hour Layover due to congestion thru immigration. We are told to be at the Airport in Manila more than 4 hours before departure to allow for delays. I am flying to Iceland from Manila via KLM and Iceland Air. The 18.5 hour Manila to Amsterdam KL808 flight has a short stop in Taiwan before proceeding to Schiphol Airport in more than 14 hours. During the entire flight, I had not eaten enough food because they were serving me foods that I am allergic to. I was even told that its the only food they have and that I had no choice. I did not expect this from a long haul flight and so I will be better prepared going home flying the same airlines.
Then instead of a 3 hour Layover in Schiphol Airport, our layover was extended to 6 hours due to a delay in the arrival of the plane from Iceland. Again, during my flight from Schiphol Airport to Keflavik Airport in Iceland, the flight did not serve food. The flight was almost 3 hours and yet no food or even coffee was served. The only choices were water and juice. I was really unprepared for this trip and will bring food during my return trip.
For Filipinos ( Cebuano ) to reach Iceland, we have to eat 9 or more meals, watch 4 or more inflight movies and pass to at least 3 or more airports before we arrive in Keflavik, Iceland.
Iceland provides a really unique experience for Filipinos during its winter season. I spent 5 days in the cold and have seen the Aurora Borealis, Hot baths, Lava Show, beautiful waterfalls and geysir and the best of all, drove a snowmobile in the middle of a snowfall over a glacier with very limited visibility. It was truly amazing!
