Bal Seal Engineering, Inc., creator of pioneering Bal Spring® canted coil spring technology, introduces the LQR™ lock/quick release system. This system consists of a Bal Spring and a set of engineered grooves which allow for simple, reliable locking of parts in the primary position, and fast separation of parts in the secondary position. The LQR is ideal for use in quick-release electrical connectors, solder-free electrical connections, underwater connectors, satellite/orbital connectors, mechanical lock connectors, quick fasteners, fluidic connectors and tamper-proof applications.

The company also offers its Bal Contact® electrical contacts, for industrial and medical applications. The Bal Contact, which consists of a metal housing and one or more Bal Spring canted coil springs, can help effectively manage high, medium and low current in a wide range of applications. The spring’s individual coils act independently to compensate for misalignment and surface irregularities, delivering superior multi-point contact and conductivity with minimal heat rise in a compact, space-saving design.
