Pakistan has once again cried foul over India’s suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, whining about “abrupt variations” in the Chenab River. Its Indus water commissioner has reportedly sent a letter to India, begging for clarification, while the Foreign Office laments the “critical time” of their agricultural cycle. India, however, had already taken a firm stand after the Pahalgam terror attack, making it clear that blood and water cannot flow together. PM Modi slammed the treaty as unjust and one-sided during his Independence Day speech, exposing how Indian rivers had been used to irrigate enemy fields while Pakistan’s own farmers went thirsty.
