Fredrik Rasten - guitar and voice, composition
This piece is in a way a guided improvisation and consist of harmonics and open strings and a particular just tuning on acoustic steel string guitar. The performer improvises patterns with these notes on the guitar while singing in unison and in different tonal relationships to the pitches of the instrument, also singing glissandi between the notes while trying to blend as smoothly as possible with the tone of the guitar.
Some of the strings can also be carefully retuned to specific pitches while playing. The music has a focus on sounding just / stable consonances but also, on the way, to create dense interfering timbres,
