In this video, my student Kum. Shravanthi and I recite the Durga Sukta which appears in the Krishna Yajur Veda. It is also part of the Mahanarayana Upanishad. This hymn speaks about Lord Agni and also Mother Durga. Lord Agni is the deity who connects us with the divine. Saint Vallalar attained enlightenment by having his gaze fixed on Agni during Deeparadhana. The prime worship of Zoroastrianism is that of Fire. It is Lord Agni who acts as a portal to the various lokas and Gods for whom we offer ahuti ( oblations ) during a homa / yajna.
