Part 2 of our 15-mile Chesterfield Canal adventure – and this time things get even more entertaining! 🚣♂️🍻
We set off from Whitsunday Pie Lock, buzzing with the knowledge that there are NO MORE LOCKS TO PORTAGE – WHOOOP! 🎉 With 7.5 miles still to cover, spirits are high… though we only make it 2.5 miles before stumbling into a pub for “essential rehydration.” 🍺 Oops.
Back on the water, we paddle past Worksop & Retford Boat Club and head into brand-new RuffPaddling territories. Along the way:
👉 I suffer a savage pollen attack, making it look like my left eye was about to fall out its socket! 👁️ (Not quite, but it felt like it).
👉 We pass under Bridge 69 – no prizes for guessing why that one’s my favourite 🤭.
👉 And finally, Drakeholes comes into view as the end of this epic 2-parter approaches.
Of course, I chat a load of nonsense along the way (what’s new? 😂), but that’s all part of the RuffPaddling adventure.
