Note or reminder: I am not an expert at this game. XD
The third deck that I have ever wanted to "Main".
So, Link Summoning is on the horizon, along with huge mechanic changes. Personally, I am pretty excited for the changes and can't wait for them to get on YGOPro/DevPro. Until then, I decided to do 5 last sessions before the massive changes arrive. These sessions will consist of decks that I have considered to "Main" up to this point.
I am aware that I have pretty much changed my mind a number of times overtime of what I want to "Main".
I'm not looking for something that wins all the time. I'm looking for something that I find most fun, that may fit me thematically, and, while it sounds stupid: A deck that I can put my "Heart" into.
This one is gonna get a little awkward to get into. Actually, in my build, there really wasn't supposed to be Supreme King in this, let alone have most focus on the Magician monsters. The focus was supposed to be mostly on the Performapal monsters supporting Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon instead.
Now, as to how I even got interested in Performapal: Arc-V was just starting in OCG. There was only a teaser which did seem interesting, and then I saw the Arc-V anime. As soon as I saw the theme of monsters that he was playing, it just got me interested from there. The silly and goofy theme of the monsters just got off a "Toon" type of vibe for me...I guess I sort of went to them as a substitute for a Toon deck since it was pretty much difficult to make a decent functioning Toon deck. Keep in mind: The Dragons of Legend support for Toons did not even exist yet. Also, I did get curious about how the Pendulum mechanic worked at the time.
Now, I did have fun playing the deck at first. This was when their strategies were...more simple. And I guess there was the fact that I was also sort of following the formula of how the protagonist of Arc-V was developing his own deck, so I guess you could say this one was possibly more of an anime deck?
But, regardless of that...I did not like the direction the deck went. Now, it's not like I minded the deck getting more support. I also liked the idea that Yuya may get his hands on the other "Dimensional Dragons" just as he did Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon. However, later down the line, there was things that I started to realize, and my opinion on the Pendulum mechanic shifted...
For one thing, there was a lot more Performapal monsters being released than I thought there was going to be. I originally wanted to test each of them to see how they would fit but, a LOT of them were coming by. I sort of am angry at them for doing this because not only for straying away from their original strategies or even superior strategies as the support came, at least what it seemed for me, but for taking all the potential slots that could have been given to archetypes that needed more support or even other new cards that could have been not Performapal.
And, quite frankly, I personally find the Pendulum mechanic to be a bit ridiculous with the power creep. Yes, I am aware that there is no meta Pendulum deck at the moment on the radar and about what is going to happen to it with the new rules coming. Heck, I didn't even mind the mechanic that much until about Majespecter and beyond.
With all that said...I think this is just another deck that is most likely not gonna be a Main Deck. Not the lowest, but I think just about tied with the Toon deck. I played this deck originally as a substitute for the Toon deck, and well, since Dragons of Legend support happened, there's now less reason for me to play this. Not to mention I'm probably not one who could play more complicated decks anyway, since I'm pretty much a simpleton. XD
Oh, and also, I didn't like where the character of Yuya went with the anime, as well as the whole of Arc-V's anime story down the road...
...I am thankful for the Ninja support that came from the Arc-V era, though...
I will show as much content as possible of the game, but this is not a speed run nor a perfect run. Hope you will enjoy this Playthrough/Walkthrough/Let's Play/Gameplay.
