This summer, Nova Scotia experienced a record amount of rain. I personally haven't seen a season like this in my lifetime. The Miner's Marsh- my favorite local birding spot, has been vastly different compared to last year.
For this week's video, I take a walk around the marsh to check on the water level. This is my 4th video at this location in 2023- the first was about a Least Bittern, the second was about a Wilson's Phalarope, and the third was a water level check like this one.
This video shows some particularly high water levels as recent storms combined with the moon cycle made for some exceptionally high tides, even by Nova Scotia standards.
