In 1982, comedy legend John Belushi died in Bungalow 3 at the Chateau Marmont on the Sunset Strip. His death shocked Hollywood and left behind a reputation that still lingers around the famous hotel.
Seventeen years later, a family temporarily moved into that same bungalow while their home was being renovated. During their stay, their two-year-old son began laughing and talking to someone in his room at night — someone he called “the funny man.” At first his parents assumed it was just an imaginary friend. But one evening while looking through a book about the Chateau Marmont’s history, the boy pointed excitedly at a photograph of John Belushi and said, “That’s the funny man.”
