India Health Fund (IHF) is a catalytic fund set up by Tata Trusts and the Global Fund, incorporated as a non-profit company in 2017. IHF funds the development and de-risking of frontier science and technology-based innovations addressing infectious diseases, anti-microbial resistance and the impact of climate change on health (climate adaptation), with a particular focus on improving access and equity. IHF works to strengthen health systems and improve health equity by catalysing the lab to market the journey of affordable new tools for infectious diseases and fostering collaborations to increase impact. So far, IHF has supported 16 innovations across infectious disease surveillance, screening and diagnosis with digital health as a crosscutting theme.
In line with Tata Trusts’ objective of establishing a platform for collaborative funding in healthcare, IHF develops partnerships for collaborative financing to fund product development, evidence generation, knowledge sharing and scale-up of these solutions in India & other developing countries. Today's webinar is structured to inform the audience in detail about IHF, its activities and pave the road for exploring potential collaborations for accelerating innovations towards the end user and helping curb preventable deaths, especially in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs) where the burden of infectious diseases is high, and healthcare system faces many a lacuna.
