Le coste nelle vicinanze sono tutte molto frastagliate, esclusa una spiaggetta, formata dallo sgretolamento delle rocce. La profondità del mare non supera i 20 metri. Vi sono due scogli principali:
Lo "Scoglio Grande", alto più di 12 metri, e lontano circa 70 metri dalla costa, è il più grande, ed è chiamato anche "dell'Elefante" o "del Mammut" per la sua struttura vista lateralmente. È diviso a metà da una stretta fessura che parte dal livello del mare e lo attraversa fino alla cima, formando due grotte al suo interno. Il retro è esposto al mare aperto ed è composto da rocce aguzze e buche scavate dalle onde del mare. La parte anteriore si affaccia sulla baia a strapiombo sul mare. È uno degli scogli più conosciuti di Siracusa.
Lo "Scoglio Piccolo", alto 5 metri, è lontano circa 50 metri dalla costa, ed assume la forma di una piccola barca. Dista dallo "Scoglio Grande" di circa 12 metri; il canale tra i due scogli è anche punto di passaggio per barche. A sinistra, lo scoglio ha una piccola piattaforma alta circa 3 m, che si affaccia a picco sul mare. A destra scivola verso il livello del mare ed è pieno di buche e scogli aguzzi, a causa della sua esposizione alle correnti del mare aperto.

The back is exposed to the open sea and is composed of sharp rocks and holes dug by the waves of the sea. The front faces the bay overlooking the sea. It is one of the best known rocks in Syracuse.
The "Scoglio Piccolo", 5 meters high, is about 50 meters from the coast, and takes the form of a small boat. It is about 12 meters from the "Scoglio Grande"; the canal between the two rocks is also a crossing point for boats. On the left, the rock has a small platform about 3 m high, overlooking the sea. On the right it slips towards the sea level and is full of holes and sharp rocks, due to its exposure to the currents of the open sea.
