New calls for motorcycle safety after 11-vehicle crash in Auburn involves 9 bikes

Описание: The horrific wreck that blocked eastbound State Route 18 for more than four hours near Auburn Saturday afternoon is no longer being investigated as a hit-and-run. However, the crash is a tremendous reminder that our warm, sunny weather is putting more motorcycles on the road. It's also causing bikers to refocus themselves on safety.

KOMO News learned new details about the crash after talking with Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson Monday morning. He said the crash involved a total of nine motorcycles and two passenger vehicles.

Three of the motorcyclists sustained such serious injuries that they were rushed to the hospital, two of them by helicopter. Medics treated seven others involved in the crash at the scene.

Trooper Johnson’s message to everyone as the investigation into the crash continues is to be aware of more motorcycles beginning to hit the road.
