It has been a full year since Switzerland locked down and has stayed locked down on and off. But 2020 has also been a year of hope and of new developments. It has also been a year where all of us pulled together and learnt to work as one without seeing each other. Bouncing off ideas in ether was not easy in the beginning, but Haefely made the transition smoothly enough. Peter Schikarski says he spoke to more people in the virtual world than would have been possible physically. He does believe that Haefely has emerged from the crisis stronger than we were.
2021 is also a benchmark year for our transformer industry colleagues. The EU directive, first announced in 2014 has a highly laudable mission “More energy efficient transformers should lead to significant energy savings” and this regulation launches its Tier 2 requirements in July 2021. Tier 2 mandates strict rules for lowering losses in transformers and includes third party certification. The testing and tolerances will therefore become tighter. Similar regulations currently exist in other countries too.
Haefely’s Distribution Transformer Test System DTTS range has supported the distribution transformer industry for over 10 years. It has made tests easy. It is Fast, accurate and secure. In this past year we have added several clever modifications to the DTTS and it is more accurate that it was before. The DTTS can serve our customers in conforming with Tier 2 norms with a lot more ease.
A watt saved is a watt not generated.
