Описание: The desire for self-fulfillment is good, but it must be understood properly. It is necessary to define the self or what a human being is. That is the task of theology and philosophy. Two false views of self-fulfillment are self-centeredness and extreme altruism. Their fundamental error is to see in different ways the human self as divine. Self-centeredness holds to the view of the sovereign self in which all other selves are meant to serve it. Extreme altruism, to be distinguished from healthy altruism and pathological altruism, believes it is wrong to act in any way out of self-interest. It believes that the self is like God in that it is self-sufficient and has the capacity to serve without any benefit to itself. Both views are shown to be lacking in that they do not recognize that humans are created in the image of God. That Christian insight will be the subject of the second video on self-fulfillment.
