Описание: Karl King wrote “The Melody Shop” in 1910 while working with the Robinson Famous Shows circus. The march grew into one of his most well known works, shaped by his early years as a young performer and composer in the circus world. King later founded the K. L. King Music House and led the Grand Army Band in Canton, Ohio. His writing reflects fast pacing, crisp lines, and the signature low brass trio that continues to challenge players. This performance was an encore from third year doctoral candidate DaJuan E. Brooks in fulfillment of recital requirements for the doctoral degree at the University of Michigan. More than ninety volunteer musicians performed in an ad hoc ensemble, representing The University of Michigan along with players from Texas, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina, California, New York, Washington, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan, Iowa, Singapore, and various other places from around the world.
