Описание: What retrofits to residences would make aging in place easier in suburban DeKalb County, GA and what zoning changes would enable them? This symposium was set up to assist GA Tech students answer that question working with the county's Aging In Placers members as clients in Professor Dunham-Jones' Retrofitting Suburbia class. Presenter list: Will Johnston of the MicroLife Institute on cottage courts and living smaller; Ellen Dunham-Jones on retrofit types (shared backyards, roommate houses, duplexes, ADUs, ACUs, and lot splits); Davis Fox on zoning obstacles; Commissioner Ted Terry on the goals of the collaboration; Bonnie Davis introduces the Aging in Placers mission; Rick Porter on the developer's perspective; Monte Anderson on hacking zoning to create roommate houses and garage conversions; and Steve Luoni on Houses for Aging Socially.
