Road closed due to storms for Mundale lake camping trip. Will we get there?

A four wheel drive adventure in the western woodlands. My mate Barry and I head out from cold and wet Perth with friends from @Messy80 for a long weekend of fun and camping west of Norseman in Western Australia. The Hyden-Norseman road was closed in part when we left. Were we going to have to detour via Coolgardie to get to Mundale lake???
Another strong storm was forecast to hit southern WA while we were away. We were hoping it would mainly pass to the south of us. Would we get a clear sky to do some night photography and light painting? And would we be able to get home if the next storm closed the roads again?
