Historic B17 Flying Fortress "Sentimental Journey"+ B25 Mitchell "Maid in the Shade" at Rockhill SC

Описание: Two historic WWII aircraft out at Rockhill Regional Airport on June 6, 2024!

The Arizona Commemorative Air Force Museum is just now wrapping up their 2024 tour season for their Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress "Sentimental Journey" and their North American B-25J Mitchell "MAID in the SHADE" and from Tuesday, June 4 - Sunday, June 9. The 2024 tour season brought the two iconic WWII aircraft to Rockhill Regional Airport in South Carolina!

The two bombers flew in Tuesday morning (June 4) and remained at the airport for ground tours only, until Friday when they started their flights! Flights lasted from 9:00AM - 2:00PM for both the B-17 and B-25 with prices ranging from $$475 per waist compartment seat and $850 per Bombardier/Navigator seat for the B-17 and $375 per radio compartment seat and $590 per jump seat for the B-25.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to fly in any of these aircraft but I got plenty pictures and videos of their takeoffs, landings, taxi in/ out, and engine startups and a great view of all those flights!

I'd always suggest keeping a lookout on social media around Spring/ Summer to see if any of the WWII historic aircraft will be going on tour to your nearby airport! This year just so happened to be year that both the "Sentimental Journey" B-17 / "MAID in the SHADE" B-25 and Doc the B-29 flew in to the Carolinas for their 2024 tour season!

This was my first time getting to see a B-17 actually flying rather than just sitting in a museum so it was a great experience to finally see this world famous aircraft!
