VirtualRoad Trip westbound on the Indiana Toll Road in Northwest Indiana from I-65 in Gary, IN to U.S. Route 421 in Westville, IN (south of Michigan City, IN). Another trip in NW Indiana heading towards South Bend, IN. In this area of NW Indiana it's almost as if Indiana is battling Michigan. The land can roll around like crazy at one point and then can be pancake-flat the next just like how you could be in the middle of the woods then suddenly in open farm/prairie. Which is what I feel like is what makes it fun to drive on this stretch of the IN Toll Road.
This is the main route that connects Chicago to many eastern cities like Toledo, Cleveland, and even New York City on the far east end so you'll see a fair number of trucks. For most of this route, we follow fairly close to I-94 (Borman Expressway) and even cross it later in the video since both roads are trying to go around the south side of Lake Michigan but even though either road will get you to Chicago, going east one goes toward New York City but the other (I-94) goes into Michigan and then heads for Detroit.
Also, this is a toll road (hence the name) but the toll varies depending on where you get on and get off. I just specified the toll road's website to look up what the toll rates are for wherever you are going.
