Ingredients for the cake:
1 cup of all-purpose flour
3/4 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon
1/2 cup of milk
1/4 cup of melted butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla
For the fudge sauce:
1/2 cup of packed brown sugar
1/4 cup of cocoa powder
1 1/4 cups of hot water
Preheat your oven to 350°F
Lightly grease a 8 x 8 pan
In a large bowl, mix, flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt thoroughly.
Start in your milk, melted butter, and vanilla until this is smooth. Spread the batter into your baking dish.
In a small bowl mix the packed brown sugar with your cocoa.
Mix this and sprinkle it evenly over the top. Do not stir this into the cake.
Now carefully pour the hot water over the top of the all of this and do not stir.
Place your pan into the oven and let it bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
Let this cool slightly.
It’s delicious to use this with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
