8X8 RGB led cube build and demo / review.

I have this problem, when i purchase something the most important thing to me is the after service, the customer support, and im going to have to say the service and support i have received from Wongwingho ( please correct me if the name is wrong ) has to be one of the best i have come across. Secondly i would like to add I have nothing to do with the manufacturing, or selling of this cube.

Ok, to the cube. The cube comes in kit form. A soldered or unsoldered pcb. All the leds, with spares, wire, basically everything to build this into a working cube, even a power supply. once finished you have a programmable led cube with software to make your own patterns. With remote you can use it as a static colour night light, or have it as an audio visualizer.

Description out of the way, Now to the build details. preparing the leds took about 20 hours, i tested every led twice, before and after. now you do not have to prepare them the way i have done in the video, so you would save yourself some time. I just thought it looked better, and made them easier to solder and less fiddly in the jig. The led panels took about 8 hours. and then assembly of the panels took about 4 hours. so a total of 32 hours.

so was it worth it. A 100% yes. Even after all the led testing a had a few leds die on me, probably down to my soldering skills and a few other teething problems that you get with any led cube build. The software once you get used to it, makes this cube perfect. so if your looking at making an RGB cube, this is the one.

Things to remember when building it...

1) Test every led, every time you touch it.
2) Get a good soldering iron, and lots of solder.
3) The jig is great for making the panels. but extra support is needed to keep it square.
4)when placing the panels into the pcb. Test every panel through all the colours a panel at a time.
