Ikhlas (sincerity) is an important concept and practice in Islam. It is mentioned in the Qur'an and prophetic narrations. If the seeker is to attain ma'rifah (experiential cognisance of the Divine) s/he must have ikhlas and be mukhlis.

In this video I discuss two narrations that the hadith collector (muhaddith) Hasan ibn Fadhl Tabarsi (Tafreshi) (d. 12th C AD) includes in his hadith collection.

He compiles his collection from earlier collections, such as al-Barqi's al-Mahasin and Nayshapuri's Rawdah al-Wa'izin.
