Описание: An industry-standard way of feeding small parts in a specific orientation is the vibrating bowl conveyor. The vibratory bowl feeder's main flaw, however, is that it can only handle a single part or a group of similar parts because it relies on mechanical channels and guides to orient the pieces. Furthermore, only one family of extremely identical components can often be handled by vibratory bowl feeders. It can take a lot of time to change or adjust the obstacles and orienting devices for each individual element of a family.

By employing machine vision system to replace the channels and guides in the vibratory bowl feeder concept, Ars Automation created a novel way to handle an almost infinite number of pieces within a specific size range.
FlexiBowl® is a flexible feeding device that can be easily integrated with every robot, such as Omron Robots, and vision system.

The vibratory bowl feeder concept is used by the cirucular flexible feeder FlexiBowl® to randomly present the parts in the bowl in any possible orientation. When the vision system sees the correct part in the correct orientation, it sends the location of the part to a robot. The robot selects the correct parts, while the incorrect parts are recycled into the bowl.

Entire families of metal parts within 1-250 mm and 1-250 g can be handled by a single FlexiBowl® replacing a whole set of dedicated vibratory bowl feeders.
Its lack of dedicated tooling and its easy to use and intuitive programming software allows quick product changeovers inside the same work shift.
New parts teaching and production changeovers can be made in a matter of minutes.
